i'm really worried and i'm telling her some last minute tips about all the things to avoid, do's and don'ts, and bad things that can happen to american tourists.
she's never been there and it's just her and her friend.. what are some things to avoid? or bad things that could happen? thanks
Suggestion:
First timers to Jamaica should always have a great time. Bad things can happen anywhere, but in Jamaica most bad situations can be avoided by being smart about things.
DONT – Stay out past 11 p.m., travel into area that you are unfamiliar with, touch anything you don't intend to buy, smoke weed in public, let vendors take advantage of you or hound you, wear a lot of jewelry or take anything you wouldn't mind losing in one way or another, carry around a lot of cash, use your credit or debit card anywhere that seems sketchy, buy drugs at the airport. (Did I miss any)?
DO – Treat everyone with respect (unless you feel you've been disrespected), tip well, get out and see Jamaica, wear sunscreen, pay respects to the late Bob Marley at Nine Mile, HAVE FUN!!!
