Looking for Boat Dry Storage Marina? a Marina is Your Best Bet!

Boats offer hours of pleasure to their owners and guests. Boats allow people to access parts of lakes and the coast that people without boats cannot reach. There you can picnic swim or fish in less crowded waters. If your boat is small, then storage may be simple. You just load the boat back onto your trailer and head home for storage. This gives the advantage of being able to take you boat to different lakes in order to launch it. For larger boats, storage is more of a problem and you may need to choose a marina.

Storing your boat in a wet marina has several advantages. The primary one is that the boat is easily launched. In these marinas, you will often find electrical access that allows you to keep all batteries on your boat charged using battery keepers. While some wet storage marinas offer enclosed storage on the water, many offer only open-air storage. This has the disadvantage of the elements causing deterioration of your boat.

Florida Dry Boat Storage also have many advantages. First, your boat is stored out of the water and usually inside a garage-like facility. This will protect your boat from constant salt-water corrosion. The finish and exposed upholstery is likely to remain new looking for many years.

Use of dry boat storage-marinas requires that your boat be lifted out of the water each time it is put into storage. Most of these marinas accomplish this task with a crane that lifts the boat onto a track system. On the track system, you boat can be easily moved into its storage slip. With smaller boats, you may be offered stacked storage, which can be less expensive. For larger boats, this may not be an option. Dry storage may not be available for the largest of boats.

Some boat owners use dry storage whenever they need to work on their boats. If this is your plan, be sure that such work is allowed in the marina you choose, since insurance policies often require that marinas do not allow for working on your boat. If you are allowed to work on your boat while it is in dry storage, this is a great time to inspect the boat for damage that may not be noticeable when the boat is in the water. Some work, such as replacing a propeller is much easier in dry storage.

The biggest disadvantage to dry boat storage is that the boat must be moved back onto the water each time you want to take it out of storage. It will need to be lifted by crane onto the track and brought back to the water. This means scheduling the launch around the marina’s schedule. In other words, you cannot just drive down to the marina and hop into your boat anytime you wish to. Once the boat is launched it will need to be brought back to a dock to pick up passengers, supplies and luggage.

If you need to choose a Marina Storage for your boat, remember that there are both advantages and disadvantages for each method of storage. Storing small boats on trailers allows for launch into almost any lake in your vicinity. Larger boats may need to be stored in a marina, so you can choose between Dry Storage Marina and wet storage.
