Dirty Bed Linen and Insect Infected Bathrooms

For many of us, our annual holiday is something we spend all year looking forward to and as the day approaches, excitement levels are high. Then it happens. Your flight is delayed, the hotel is overbooked and you get moved to a second rate hostel, the weather is worse than at home and someone pinches all your euros.For all of us who have stayed at home for our holiday this year, let us delight in the misfortune of others who were so smug before they set off but were laughing on the other side of their faces when they returned with less of a tan than they set off with.

“Everything about our holiday was fine until we stepped into our bedroom at the hotel we were staying. The curtains were falling off the rail, the carpet was covered in stains and the colourful bed linen had all kinds of stains on that I would rather not think about.The couple staying there before us must have had a very good holiday, if you know what I mean.”

“ Our resort turned out to be a naturist hotel. Lets just say my mother in law was less than impressed.”

“We had a poor start and end to our holiday. Our taxi was so late in collecting us that we missed the outbound flight. We had to move hotel because our room had been overbooked and the replacement was second rate. There was only a single bed and a child size mattress on the floor in our second hotel room. The final kick in the teeth was that our luggage was sent to Heathrow and we flew into Edinburgh.”

“We stayed on an island that was postcard picture worthy. What was wrong with the resort was the insect infestation that covered the entire island including our bedroom and bathroom. If I never see another insect I will be happy.“
